What’s HITEC?

１９８９年８月、津市制１００周年記念事業として開催された国際交流フェアに来津した外国の方々のホームステイを受け入れるために、津市の呼びかけに応じた市民たちによって設立されました。それから今日まで、国際交流ボランティア団体として会員も１３０余名になり、津市を中心にさまざまな活動を行っています。「草の根の国際交流、普段着のお付き合い！！」がモットーです。地元の三重大学、名古屋大学、鈴鹿国際大学、看護大学とは留学生のホームステイやさまざまな交流、支援を通じて関係を深め、２００1年にはその功績が認められ、留学生受け入れ制度１００年を記念して文部科学大臣表彰を受けました。

With the aim of multicultural exchange, we established HOMESTAY IN TSU in August, 1989. We have over 100 members across Mie prefecture. “Grass-roots International Exchange and Casual Companionship” has been the motto of our HOMESTAY IN TSU. If you are interested, just let us know. We would like to send you an application form for the membership. Major activities are as follows; promoting cross cultural exchange by introducing students from abroad to registered home stay families holding a festival called “Wai Wai Gaya Gaya Festa” every year holding an international cooking class twice a year taking part in the Tsu Festival in October every year issuing an annual newsletter.
